MTC to Kentucky: July 25

This is from me, Kelly....
Yesterday was an adventure!  Moses called early in the morning as he was waiting to board his flight to Kentucky.  There were 28 missionaries heading to Kentucky!!  The flight left late so when they arrived in Atlanta, Georgia, their connecting flight was about to leave.  The missionaries at the front of the plane were able to exit and run and make it.  Moses was in the back of the plane with 15 other missionaries and they didn't make it in time.  They got stuck in Georgia!  Not sure how it all transpired, but they all eventually arrived in Kentucky.  What a long day that must have been! Moses called when he got to the mission home and said the day was actually fun!  hahaha.  It was so nice to hear his voice.  Not sure how we are going to make it until Christmas when we get to hear him again!

Here is what he sent really quick today...

I'm serving in Greenville Kentucky! My trainer is Elder Ashcraft and
he's been out for 21 months, I'm his last companion. It's awesome he's
a red head haha it's burning hot here and I'm having a blast!
So our address is 320 south Main Street Apt 2. Greenville Kentucky 42345

This is the "Mission Mom", Elder Ashcraft, Elder Taeoalii (of course!!), and President Brough, the mission President.

We are lucky enough to know Rigby Butikofer, who graduated from Murray High a couple years ago, and just returned to Murray from the Louisville, Kentucky mission.  He said he served in the Greenville area for about 6 months and he loved it!  He said the people there are wonderful and he is extremely excited for Moses! Rigby sent me this picture...
Until next week...xoxox!!

Almost Done at the MTC (out of chronological order oops!) July 20

This week has been amazing. I've been learning so much. The biggest thing I've been focusing on is the Character of Christ. Elder Bednar came and spoke and he said how to know how to have the Character of Christ you have to learn that you are nothing without Christ. I've been focusing on this and trying to have the Character of Christ. I've been praying so much for that and its helped me draw nearer to Christ so much. I'm reading the Book of Mormon over again and just highlighting everything that has to do with the Character of Christ and its been such a testimony builder. Another amazing experience is I grew close with an Elder named Elder Morrow and he told me that I've helped him out so much on and have been a huge example to him, and that I'm so in tune with the spirit. He expressed how grateful he was for me and how much he looked up to me. He sad that every time he felt sad or down that I always hugged him or did something right when he needed it. I had no idea that I was doing that for him, but its such a humbling experience to see how if I follow the spirit it can touch others lives. When he told me that I was about to cry. I've been able to feel the spirit so much more and I've been growing so close to our heavenly father. I love the MTC and all the Elders in my zone. My companion is such a great example and an amazing missionary. Hes extremely funny too. My favorite Elder besides him is Elder Fotu. Hes my favorite guy that I've met here. Its weird we both feel like we knew each other in the pre-mortal life. Its so cool and sad because hes not going to my mission haha. I leave on Monday at 3:30 in the morning its going to suck, but I'm so excited but nervous at the same time to get out in the field. This mission is the best decision I've ever made, and I'm so grateful for the chance to serve the lord. Love you and miss you all so much! I've been praying everyday for everyone and I hope everything is going okay! I would love to get updates on everything from all of you!

A picture with a bunch of guys from our zone!

This is some random Elder whose last name is Batman and we thought that was really cool haha.

This our district leader Elder Dixon.

This is two Elders in our class.
This is our whole district! Were missing Elder Crossly and Elder Miner!

Another picture of Elder Illingsworth haha

This was our first day, and that's my companion.

This was our first temple walk.

Hello All!

My P day is Wednesdays so I will be sending emails out then! you should get my emails by 5:45. I miss everyone so much already and cant wait to spread the gospel! The spirit is so strong here and everyone is so nice is kinda weird hahaha! My companion and I get along so well I'm so excited. We got to teach a little bit today and it was amazing!

And...here is the one we just got today:

This week has been amazing to say the least. I have learned so much its unbelievable. The spirit here is so strong and its working miracles through me. I have matured more this week then I have my whole high school career. I know that without the spirit I wouldn't be able to handle this. A great example of how missionary's are nothing without the spirit is, my companion(Elder Illingsworth) and I taught our teacher about 3 lessons and he told us that we were the most prepared missionaries that hes ever taught. We got really cocky and we taught our next lesson and it SUCKED the spirit wasn't there at all and it was a struggle. It was so humbling and after we said a prayer and repented. After that our next lesson was amazing. The power of the holy ghost is so amazing. While we teach I just open my mouth and the spirit speaks right through me. A little bit about my companion is he knows the scriptures inside and out. It amazes me everyday, whenever we prepare lessons and in lessons he has a scripture for everything. My favorite experience so far is our Sunday night devotional. We watched the Character of Christ which is a devotional given by Elder Bednar. It was unreal, I learned so much. I can't believe how selfish I've been all my life. We learned how nothing is about us its all about the people we teach. Its about turning away from ourselves and turning outwards to others. I'm starting the Book of Mormon over again and just highlighting things about the Character of Christ. I wish you could all watch it, but the only place you can see it is at the MTC. I am loving it here, and I'm missing you all! We've been working our tails off and its helped so much we have about a 15 hour day and I'm exhausted every night. Every second of it though is worth it.

Much love,

Elder Taeoalii

P.S. Ask my mom about dear Elder so I can hear from you guys everyday!

**********
So, his P.S. is about the coolest website.  It's www.dearelder.com.  You can type a letter and volunteers at DearElder print them out and deliver them to the MTC Monday through Friday at noon.  That way, he can hear from us all week!

If you would like to send him some thoughts that way, go to www.dearelder.com.  Then on the left side, there is a list of options.  Under SEND STUFF, click on Provo MTC (FREE).  Fill out your info like you would on a real envelope (your return address info) and then put his info in.  Elder Moses Taeoalii Unit 252 (I leave the mission code space blank) and JUL 25 for estimated MTC departure date.  Then type away!

If you would like to email him, his address is moses.taeoalii@myldsmail.net

If you would like to send him a letter or package in the mail, his MTC address is

Elder Moses Ai Taeoalii
JUL25  KY-LOU
