First week in the MTC: July 13

Hello All!

I hope your week has been good.  We are plugging along over here.  We are doing better than I thought.  hahaha.  We definitely see and feel the Lord's hand in our lives and for that, I am VERY grateful.

Some of you missed his very first email because I added your name to the list after I had sent it, so here is the first one from last Wednesday, the day he got to the MTC:

Today was amazing, I survived and it was awesome. Were not suppose to say much but i had a blast and learned lots and my companion is amazing! Hes a 2 year convert from Oregon. My P day is Wednesdays so I will be sending emails out then! you should get my emails by 5:45. I miss everyone so much already and cant wait to spread the gospel! The spirit is so strong here and everyone is so nice is kinda weird hahaha! My companion and I get along so well I'm so excited. We got to teach a little bit today and it was amazing!

And...here is the one we just got today:

This week has been amazing to say the least. I have learned so much its unbelievable. The spirit here is so strong and its working miracles through me. I have matured more this week then I have my whole high school career. I know that without the spirit I wouldn't be able to handle this. A great example of how missionary's are nothing without the spirit is, my companion(Elder Illingsworth) and I taught our teacher about 3 lessons and he told us that we were the most prepared missionaries that hes ever taught. We got really cocky and we taught our next lesson and it SUCKED the spirit wasn't there at all and it was a struggle. It was so humbling and after we said a prayer and repented. After that our next lesson was amazing. The power of the holy ghost is so amazing. While we teach I just open my mouth and the spirit speaks right through me. A little bit about my companion is he knows the scriptures inside and out. It amazes me everyday, whenever we prepare lessons and in lessons he has a scripture for everything. My favorite experience so far is our Sunday night devotional. We watched the Character of Christ which is a devotional given by Elder Bednar. It was unreal, I learned so much. I can't believe how selfish I've been all my life. We learned how nothing is about us its all about the people we teach. Its about turning away from ourselves and turning outwards to others. I'm starting the Book of Mormon over again and just highlighting things about the Character of Christ. I wish you could all watch it, but the only place you can see it is at the MTC. I am loving it here, and I'm missing you all! We've been working our tails off and its helped so much we have about a 15 hour day and I'm exhausted every night. Every second of it though is worth it.

Much love,

Elder Taeoalii

P.S. Ask my mom about dear Elder so I can hear from you guys everyday!

**********
So, his P.S. is about the coolest website.  It's www.dearelder.com.  You can type a letter and volunteers at DearElder print them out and deliver them to the MTC Monday through Friday at noon.  That way, he can hear from us all week!

If you would like to send him some thoughts that way, go to www.dearelder.com.  Then on the left side, there is a list of options.  Under SEND STUFF, click on Provo MTC (FREE).  Fill out your info like you would on a real envelope (your return address info) and then put his info in.  Elder Moses Taeoalii Unit 252 (I leave the mission code space blank) and JUL 25 for estimated MTC departure date.  Then type away!

If you would like to email him, his address is moses.taeoalii@myldsmail.net

If you would like to send him a letter or package in the mail, his MTC address is

Elder Moses Ai Taeoalii
JUL25  KY-LOU
2005 N 900 E Unit 252
Provo UT 84602

Feel free to share his info or my email with anyone you think may be interested.

Until next week...{{{hugs}}}
