The Church Is True

This has been one heck of a roller coaster!

Weve been having such a great time! Training is probably one of the coolest things you can do as a missionary. I feel like a dad haha. Its so cool to be able to see him learn and grow and become a better missionary. Whats so amazing about  training too, is how much i am growing. Im learning so much and becoming so much better from working with him. Our area is doing great. We are finding so many people to teach im loving it!

One of the coolest experiences this week has been doing the 15 step program with Paula on smoking. She has been smoke free for almost a week and a half and she has changed so much. Its been such an amazing experience to see to gospel change her and help her feel so much joy its been a blessing to be able to teach her.

The guy were teaching Tim who we had the plan of salvation lesson with is doing amazing. He is doing so good and is progressing so much. I love seeing the light that the gospel bring change these peoples lives. What a blessing it is to be able to be gods instrument in helping people achieve this change!

Why it was a roller coaster was because of yesterday. Weve been teaching this lady named Angela and she has been doing so good. She gave up coffee, tea, and alcohol. She has been progressing and came to church on yesterday. Then this morning she told us she didnt want to meet with us or anything anymore out of no where. SO that was sad. I hate it so bad. People dropping us and choosing not to accept the gospel is such a sad thing to see.

Anyways im having such a blast and loving it so much. Its been so amazing to see the happiness the gospel brings to people and i love it so much! love you all and hope y'all have an amazing week!

Much Love,
Elder Taeoalii

Bless Up

This week has been so awesome! We've been working so hard and weve so
many great miracles happen. We have been teaching Paula this week
about the word of wisdom. We finally were able to do the 15 step
program with her and its been so awesome. She's been good for 4 days,
so she only has three left! Im so excited for her shes been working so
hard and making so much progress. I just cant wait for her week to be
over so we dont have to keep being so anxious about it haha.

This week weve been working with a lot of the part member families in
our ward and weve been having such great success from it. The best
plan of salvation lesson happened with one of them it was amazing. The
spirit was strong! This lady has been working with her fiancé for 2
and 1/2 years to join the church, and had no headway at all with him.
We taught him the plan of salvation and he totally changed. He is
really interested now and is doing great its so awesome!

I also spoke this week for the first time on my mission. It was such
an amazing experience. I was asked to give my talk on repentance and
baptism. I felt like i needed to talk about the enabling power of the
atonement so i did. I was really nervous because i didnt know how it
would go with the other talks, but the speaker after me said things
that went exactly inline with what i talked about it was amazing!

Im loving my mission so much. Its been such a blast lately i wouldnt
trade it for the world. Im learning so much about myself and about the
gospel, its helping me become who i think my Heavenly Father wants me
to be. I dont think there could be anything better then that. I love
you all and hope you all have a blessed week!

Much love,
Elder Taeoalii

Fun Times

This week has been awesome!
I was so scared on Tuesday to get my new companion, but also super excited. When we went in to find out who our trainees were the only thing i wanted was that Elder Illingsworth and I would train MTC companions. We went in and guess what we got companions! I was so happy!
Training has been so awesome, i love it so much. Elder Lamoreaux is so awesome. He is so humble and so full of charity to everyone. Its been amazing and so scary to be training. Its definitely been such a humbling experience. Ive been able to grow so much more as a missionary training.
I love our district so much its been such a blast. Our new district leader has been so awesome. His name is Elder Haws he was adopted from Ethiopia when he was 15 hes been so fun to serve around.
This week has been a good week for someone to start there mission. I got a flat tire while it was raining so we had to walk 15 minutes soaking wet to a members house. Its been raining all week so we have been soaking its been awesome! We also got kicked out of Walmart's parking lot so that was fun too haha.
Something cool that happened this week, is we haven't been able to contact this referral that we received at all. We've tried calling her and we went to her house a few times as well. I went on to Facebook and found her profile and messaged her and she was so excited to hear from us! She went to church on Sunday and loved it and we taught her through video chat on Facebook it was awesome!
This week has kind of been a bummer though we've dropped so many people its been sad. We have been teaching two kids who are so interested in learning, and both of their parents told us not to come back. One of their situations just kills me. He is a 15 kid who smokes, drinks, and is a drop out of school. We taught him the first lesson and he committed to quit smoking and drinking so he could get baptized. Then to have his mom tell us that was so frustrating.
I'm loving the work out here and having so much fun. I love you all and miss you all! hope yall have a great week!
Much Love,
Elder Taeoalii

Bleh

This week has been a struggle! I hope everyone had a great week haha.
This week i got sick and ive been throwing up all week so that has not
been the most enjoyable time. Its been really interesting experience
to be sick on the mission. There is just such an interesting dipole
between worrying about myself and the people in my area. I can lay
here and be sick and worry about myself, or i can get up and just go
to work. Its been a great opportunity for me to grow in my love for
the people. Im proud to say that i got out and worked for most of the
time. The only thing i really couldnt do was bike, so we were able to
get aton of members to go out with us. The Elders have been alot of
help as well. The only problem is no one was stinkin home! We had 18
lessons fall through so that has been a struggle! We also had to drop
all of our baptismal dates as well so ya fun times haha. Then the car
elders crashed their car at the end of the week so that has been
terrible hahaha. Luckily it wasn't there fault and everyone was okay!
Im sorry this email has been pretty boring, but cant think of that
much to say. Breaking news though Im going to be training a new
missionary starting tomorrow so im super pumped for that! Im so scared
though. Its going to definitely be a humbling experience for me that
im excited for! Love you all and miss you guys! hope everyone has a
wonderful week.

Much Love,
Elder Taeoalii

So Fresh, So Clean, So 2017

Happy New Years everyone!

This week has been a tough one. It seemed like all of our
investigators were gone for the holidays or had family over or who
knows what haha. We didn't have as many lessons as we would've liked
so that was no bueno.

The craziest thing that happened this week was we saved a guys life!
We were out biking and this guy pulled up next too us and started
talking to us. We found out a little bit about him and he was actually
a member. Long story short he was about to kill himself he had the gun
to his head when we rode by and he saw us and felt he needed to talk
to us. It was such a crazy and cool experience. It was late and dark
and just down a random street.

New years was fun! It was so wild out here! Not really but it was fun.
We ended up just playing games all night. We even had some sparkling
cider to go with it. It was funny when we went to buy it we couldn't
find it anywhere. We just kept finding wine and champagne we were
getting so mad haha. Probably craziest thing that happened was i peed
in the middle of the parking lot. Because New years right?

In all seriousness I'm really excited for this new year. I cant wait
to fully become purified. The purification process has been really
tough. Im excited to become who my heavenly father wants me to be. I
would encourage you all to pray and ask heavenly father for specific
things you could work on. Then go out and get those things done! It
will change your life and allow the spirit to be with you so much
more. Ive seen through this purification process so far how much more
in-tune with the spirit I've become. What a blessing it is to have it
more abundantly. I hope everyone had a great and safe new years! Love
you all!

Much love,
Elder Taeoalii
